Relax, Restore

& Rejuvenate

The Wonders of Slovak Thermal Waters

Right in the heart of Europe, Slovakia is a dazzling land of castles, mountains and some of Europe’s most treasured thermal waters, valued since Roman times for their healing and rejuvenating benefits.

Unlike conventional spa retreats, the sulfur and magnesium rich springs have long been valued for their unique benefits that go beyond mere heat and relaxation.  With over 1,100 registered mineral springs known for their therapeutic benefits, Slovakia has long attracted kings, queens, emperors and now you seeking better mobility and pain reduction.

Why are Slovakia's Spas

different?

Science, Tradition and Proven Health Benefits

There are 10 mineral springs on Piešťany Spa Island, each coming through breaks in the tectonic plates from between 200-6,500 feet below ground. Its surface temperature is very hot 153-157 Fahrenheit and is cooled down before use in the spa.

The mineral-rich water is unique in the world because of its high sulphur, hydrogen sulphide and calcium-magnesium-sulfate content, as well as unique sulfuric mud, which are all known for their therapeutic effect on the muscular skeletal system, pain reduction, inflammatory conditions (arthritis and rheumatism) and skin conditions including anti-aging effects.

Targeted Therapies

& Personalized Care

Relieve Tension. Reduce Pain. Increase Mobility.

A typical sulfur bath soaking session lasts 15 to 20 minutes, frequently followed by a relaxing 15-minute “dry wrap” in a blanket to maximize the absorption of minerals. The warmth of still mineral water warms up internal organs, dilates the blood vessels and relaxes the muscles, letting the minerals be absorbed through the skin and distributed by the bloodstream

throughout the body. The combination of elements contained in the mineral water (iron, bromine, boron, silicon, sodium, calcium, potassium and magnesium) are known to help reduce blood pressure, improving lymph flow, supporting the production of collagen and elastin in cartilage, sinews and connective tissue. This results in reducing pain, decreasing inflammation, improving joint mobility, and enhancing skin health without the use of pharmaceutical drugs.

Popular Treatments

Beyond the signature mud and thermal water treatments, the spa offers other therapies designed to stimulate the body's natural healing responses, reduce pain, and improve functional limitations through physiotherapy, hydrotherapy (including underwater traction), electrotherapy, inhalations, wraps, acupuncture and others
